This Platform provides psychological services in accordance with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) Code of Professional Ethics and Conduct, applicable laws in Singapore, and Ministry of Health (MOH) guidance for telemedicine.
By accessing or using this Platform, you acknowledge and agree to the following Terms.
1. Nature and Scope of Psychological Services
The Platform provides individual psychological services, including assessment and psychotherapy, informed by trauma-informed principles.
Services:
- Are offered as outpatient psychological care
- Are not emergency, crisis, or inpatient services
- Do not include psychiatric diagnosis or prescription of medication
- Are not a substitute for medical or emergency care
Consistent with SPS ethical standards, no guarantees are made regarding outcomes, as therapeutic progress depends on multiple individual and contextual factors.
2. Informed Consent
In accordance with SPS ethical requirements, services are provided only with informed consent.
By using this Platform, you acknowledge that you have been informed about:
- The nature and purpose of psychological services
- The expected benefits and potential risks
- Alternative treatment options
- Your right to ask questions and withdraw consent
Informed consent is viewed as an ongoing process and may be revisited throughout treatment.
3. Telepsychology and MOH Telemedicine Standards
Psychological services may be delivered via telecommunication technologies (“telepsychology”), consistent with MOH National Telemedicine Guidelines and SPS ethical principles.
You acknowledge that:
- Telepsychology involves electronic transmission of information
- Reasonable steps are taken to protect confidentiality, but absolute security cannot be guaranteed
- Technological disruptions or limitations may occur
- Telepsychology may not be clinically appropriate in all circumstances
The psychologist retains professional discretion to determine whether telepsychology remains suitable, in the client’s best interests.
4. Client Responsibilities
In line with SPS ethical expectations of collaborative care, clients agree to:
- Participate honestly and respectfully in the therapeutic process
- Provide accurate information relevant to assessment and treatment
- Notify the psychologist of changes in risk or safety concerns
- Maintain a private and appropriate environment during teleconsultations
5. Confidentiality and Its Limits
Psychological services are confidential, consistent with SPS ethical obligations.
Confidentiality may be limited where disclosure is required or permitted by law or ethical duty, including but not limited to:
- Serious risk of harm to the client or others
- Abuse or neglect of children or vulnerable persons
- Legal or court-mandated disclosure
Where possible and appropriate, such disclosures will be discussed with the client.
6. Fees and Professional Boundaries
- Fees and billing policies are disclosed prior to commencement of services
- Missed sessions or late cancellations may be charged in accordance with stated policies
- Professional boundaries are maintained in line with SPS ethical standards
Dual relationships and conflicts of interest are avoided where reasonably foreseeable.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- The psychologist is not responsible for outcomes beyond the scope of professional services
- No assurance is given regarding specific therapeutic results
- Clients remain responsible for decisions and actions taken outside therapy sessions
Nothing in these Terms limits professional accountability under SPS ethical obligations.
8. Termination of Psychological Services
In accordance with SPS ethical guidance, services may be terminated when:
- Treatment goals have been met
- Services are no longer clinically appropriate
- There are safety, ethical, or professional concerns
- Fees remain unpaid
Where appropriate, termination will be planned and include referrals or resources to support continuity of care.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
